The Village of the Arts District is the new jewel in the crown of downtown Bradenton, Florida. Bradenton's Downtown Development Authority sent out a call to artists interested in redeveloping a walk to town community where artists can live, work and sell their wares.
In the summer of 1999, The Artists Guild of Manatee, Inc. was formed by artists of all disciplines and began the daunting task of revitalizing a blighted neighborhood into a quaint, picturesque showplace.
