In addition to providing humane education programs for all ages, our facility annually reunites dozens of lost pets with their owners and takes in about 4,000 abandoned animals in need of shelter, food, water, and homes. Our adoption program is committed to finding not only homes for these wayward pets, but homes that will provide them with the love and care that they so desperately need.

The Humane Society of Sarasota County relies on community funding to pursue its mission of promoting responsible pet ownership and securing permanent homes for all adoptable animals. HSSC provides abandoned pets with compassionate care and shelter, offers pet adoptions, humane education, affordable spay/neuter services, and programs for children, seniors and those with special needs.
