When we help one family create a safe, positive environment for one child during the early years, we strengthen our entire community not only for today -- but for tomorrow.

Today, more than ever, effective parenting profoundly impacts our children and our society. In fact, we've learned that children's experiences and environments during the first five years of life actually shape their future and the program their brains for peace or for violence. No longer can we rely on the expectation that instinct and trial-and-error are enough to accomplish the difficult job of parenting. The stakes are simply too high!
