When our
grandchildren come to visit, we love taking them to the little
water park on City Island next to Marina Jacks. They have
a blast and It cools them down on a hot day and there are plenty
of benches in the shade so we can watch them. The view of
the water is very relaxing.

The Van Wezel has
gotten better and better every year. There are lots of
nationally known shows and entertainers. Sometimes when
big name shows aren't sold out, we wonder why more people who
live here don't take advantage of what's available here.

When family and
friends come to visit we love to take them to Siesta Key.
They can't believe how soft the sand is and how clean the water
is in the Gulf! But please add more parking spaces!!!!
Whether I have guests or go alone, I love
Towles Court Artists Colony. It's just two blocks south of
Main Street between Adams Lane and Morrill St, east of 301.
Take a break, act as though you're on vacation, visit art
galleries, stroll under the old oak trees and have lunch at
one of the two restaurants.Go Tuesday
through Sat 11am to 4 PM or visit the third Friday evening
walk from 6PM to 10 PM when many galleries offer refreshments,
there is live music and the restaurants are open throughout.
Two free parking lots are adjacent to the Colony.

We love the new Lakewood Ranch Main Street "Music on Main"
nights. The first Monday of every month at 6:30 pm.
We took our grandkids a few weeks ago and they had a lot of fun.
